Tax Day Tea Party

On April 15, 2009, from 10:30am - 1:00pm, a bipartisan group of outraged citizens from around Northern Nevada are going to participate in an event resembling the classic tax revolt that gave rise to the American Revolution.

The Northern Nevada Tea Party will take place in the square in front of the Legislature building in Carson City, NV.

This is not about Right and Left. This is about Right and Wrong.

This is about government recklessly handing out your money to businesses that should have failed. This is about taking money from responsible people and handing it over to CEOs, irresponsible borrowers, and illegal aliens.. This is about a government that is overstepping its bounds by making the “unfunded mandate” your problem. We cannot, as responsible citizens, afford to sit idly by while the government squanders our future; we can no longer afford to be silent.

We are opposing all irresponsible legislation and legislators who are trying to break the backs of American families in an attempt to justify taking over our lives by expanding Government beyond limits specified in the U.S. Constitution. We are banding together to address the broad implications of a government that has grown too large, and too far removed, from the very citizens of this great nation that are going to pay the price. We are demanding hard work, effective leadership, accountability, and integrity from our elected officials.

The State Republican Central Committee is meeting in Carson that day too. There's a tour of the Legislature starting at 9 (I think). If it's not done by 10 I'll be leaving it and joining your group!
